Home Sweet Home…..My Roots…..My Heart….My Childhood Home…….Yes here it is my Childhood Home 132 Somers Avenue,Swanwyck Estates,New Castle Delaware 19720…A Glimpse Down Memory Lane…..Our Sweet Little Home…..A Ranch Style 1950’s house….our Parents Pride & Joy….3 bedrooms,1 bathroom,a kitchen,a huge laundry room/pantry….and a ample backyard….big enough for running through sprinklers,planting sunflowers & watermelon…such memories occupy my mind on days like this….I can still hear the sound of my sisters,Barbara & Rhonda playing their 45’s on our record player….The Supreme’s.Four Tops.Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons,Martha & The Vandellas,The Beatles & My Favorite Mitch Miller….( School Days My First 45 ) my Mother bought it for me to prepare me for 1st grade ( no kindergarten back then ) Oh lets not forget my sister Barb..rollers in her hair….practicing her dance moves…holding on to the door knob….and dancing away….for the school dance that night…oh how fun :0 Oh & my school Colwyck Elementary….I went there from first grade thru 5th …until our move out West…: ( So sad to leave our extended Family…But a new life & new memories & always trips back home……Delaware always in my <3

Sew Crazy

My New Hobby……Sew In Love With Sewing…….Yes my latest hobby & projects……I started sewing after many years…..I have only sewed something on a machine…..2 times….yes 2 time……Home Economics with Mrs Powell…..Rest In Peace….those dang button holes…..on that red,white & blue blouse…..I did give to my late Aunt Bertie ( RIP ) & she wore it proudly……gosh I wonder what ever happened to that…old flag ( oops ) blouse….it most likely ended up in the Goodwill…….Bless The Old House ( Blouse )…..Well today……I am sew HAPPY to be sewing again……no buttonholes ever……just for now pillowcase dresses….pillows & whatever sews my boat…

Continuing New York...The Big apple

Continuing New York….New York….The BIG Apple……Back to a trip of a lifetime……like I said a drop in my bucket & a stitch in my quilt…..my bucket needs a refill & my quilt another patch…..So much to see,to do…to taste….( yes taste ) ….I loved Phantom Of The Opera….The Singing…..The Theater….the arches…the moldings …..were so beautiful…..the whole experience was awesome……going to Little Italy…ChinaTown….Canal Street….Time Square…..another experience….I will never forget…..Lets not forget the New York Subways…..that is certainly one for the books…..I am almost always smiling & when we were going on our first subway ride….my Sis….said do not smile at anyone….but me being me…did not take her advice….after all my Mother used to tell me I had a smile that could light up the world……But apparently not the subway….but I smiled anyway…..This is one APPLE I want to take another bite of……Crunch….

Here’s To You New York…..New York…….A drop in my bucket & a stitch in my Life’s quilt…..Excitement doesn’t nearly describes….my Heart,when my sister Barbara called me & asked me…..” How would I like to take a trip to New York….wait let me catch my breath….count to 10 & breathe….of course I said yes….this has been a dream of mine….and certainly a big drop in my Bucket List & I am forever grateful for this magical trip….along with our dear friend Anna West Lewis ( RIP ) and my 2 sisters…Barbara & Rhonda…..A Girls Trip ( Smile ) ….I have dreamed about Our Lady….as long as I can remember seeing her up close & personal….her meaning & knowing that my ancestors…..crossed over from Germany…..My Great Grandfather Michael Kraus…..Seeing her & reliving what  the people…..who came to our Country for a new life & opportunities …..brings me to tears…..To me after seeing her….is all this East Coast Native needed……oh yes and of course the Italian Bakeries…..The Entire Trip Was Magical…..Beyond My Dreams….New York Was A Place I Would Dream About It…..Was It Real Or Just A Dream…….Well Dreams Really Do Come True…..To Be Continued <3

Home Sweet Home……I was born in Delaware…..First State Of The Union…..2nd smallest state…Rhode Island being the first….George Washington crossed the Delaware River…..Home of the Blue Rocks ( baseball team ) and yeah TAX FREE shopping……Growing up in Delaware was enchanting…..we got to enjoy the 4 Seasons…..not the Music Group…..but we did listen to their music & so enjoyed it……But Winter,Spring,Summer & Fall…..oh how I so loved the Autumn time…..rustling leaves…..the changing of the leaves from green to hue’s of reds,yellows,orange & brown…..crunching the leaves…with my feet…..apple picking at my Aunt Peggy’s & Uncle Jerry ( RIP ) …….Apple Cider & Ginger Snaps…..at our neighborhood park….Also the Harvest Festival at Colwyck Elementary…..( my school ) …..Such excitement…..Wintertime……Snow Days……building snowmen…..ice skating…..sledding…..hot cocoa…..Though the Winters were not so much fun for my Father….snow chains..icy roads…..snow shoveling….& my Mother…taking snow suits off of 3 little girls……hands & frost bitten fingers…..running them under warm water…….But oh how I loved the snow…..Springtime……New Life…..Blooming Flowers & Butterflies….Now onto Summer……Water ices…..running through sprinklers…..lightning bugs ( fire flies ) backyard circuses…lemonade stands…..oh such JOY……Going to the shore…..Wildwood……Cape May…….& Rehoboth….Belly Busters ( Hamburgers ) Salt Water Taffy……Oh the Boardwalks……Staying at my Aunt Peggy’s cottage…….crabbing……then my Aunt Peggy…..boiling the crabs……Yummy…..Enchanting It Was…….Home Sweet Delaware……Always In My Heart……Oh our Delaware….Our Beloved Delaware…….My Roots…..My Heart…..My Home…..

Charlotte's First Birthday

Wow...What A Birthday...Balloons,Hula Hoops,Face Painting,Hula Dancers,Food & Cake...All for our sweet Charlotte Rose .Quite the celebration in full island style...She is now a big 1 year old...walking & all & I am sure she will soon be dancing Hawaiian style...she already has her hula skirt,lei & head piece...soon she will be saying Aloha....To you Charlotte Rose....Nana & Pop Pop Dave love you....Aloha
