Fall Is In The Air.....My Favorite Time Of The Year

Fall has finally arrived......cool mornings & evenings......brisk walks around the lake......crisp fall candles.....lightly scenting our home.......candy corn & other sweet morsels displayed in our candy dish.....for family & friends to enjoy.....the leaves on our liquid amber.....preparing to change from hues of greens......oranges......yellows......browns & soon to be dropping its leaves softly to the ground.....for granddaughters in all shapes & sizes......to enjoy the sounds of rustling leaves under their soles & souls......I find this time of the year oh so enchanting.....even though we do not quite experience the Autumn season.....that my Family back East enjoys......but I so love when they share their pictures for me to enjoy.......it indeed 's takes me back to my childhood.....hmmm I can taste the ginger snap & apple cider.....hitting my lips......Like Dorthy say's....." There's no place like home " Afterall home is where the HEART is & for me......a place where there is warmth, laughter & love.......

Its almost Autumn.......

My favorite time of the year......Autumn time........As one can see I love Autumn......the cooler days......time for baking......making soups......especially Chicken & Dumplings......My Aunt Mary Ann......posted our Families recipe for Chicken & Dumplings for us all to enjoy......East Coast.....meets West Coast.......simmering on our stoves.......All of my late Mother's side all still reside on the Eastern Seaboard......Delaware ,Maryland & PA to be exact & if you were fortunate enough to grow up on the East Coast......Autumn time was stunning.......and you knew that Chicken & Dumplings......would be at the dinner table......through Autumn & Winter.......Chicken & Dumplings seem to be a Sunday meal.......on the East Coast......and oh so scrumptious.....down to the last bite.....Apple picking was also a part of childhood......Aunt Peggy & Uncle Jerry ( RIP ) had their very own apple tree in their backyard & once the apples dropped off.....we were all there to retrieve them......a trick Uncle Jerry would play on us.....to see who could pick up the most apples......My heart is still in Delaware.....so many enchanting memories......ahhhh the 4 seasons......enjoyed each one.....with gusto.......But California is now my home........but Delaware will always be a part of my essence.......my being.......my childhood......PS September 17th was my Gram's Birthday......Happy Birthday To My Gram's.....Missing you & loving you always.....Thank you for making Chicken & Dumplings :)

Monday Mornings......

Good Morning Monday......Sun is shining.....ac is still humming.....hopefully for not to long.......Anxiously waiting for Autumn to arrive.....September 22nd the first official day of Autumn.....7 days away.....this heat wave has been overbearing......I enjoy Summer.....but this East Coast native is ready to Fall in love with Fall.....I love to decorate for Autumn Time hues of oranges.....browns....crisp yellows.....rustling leaves....apple picking......crisp Autumn mornings.....baking.....crafting.....walks around the lake.....oh yes....my favorite season by far......As you can see by my posts.....I love horseback riding.....shabby chic.....sewing & granddaughters......I have only been horseback riding once...but I now consider myself a pro ( LOL ) the sound of a gallop......the beauty of a horse......the gentleness of this beautiful animal,,,,,,and certainly the dust on my boots......The Hubs & I just purchased another trail ride.....but we are waiting for the weather....to be cooler...before we take off for the wild blue yonder of Temecula.....but in the meantime.....took a stroll through one of our favorite places in T Town......4th Street Antiques....for some shabby chic finds,,,,also made a stop for some Autumn like fabrics.....I will be creating a Autumn banner to hang above the fireplace.....ahh Fall......& to make our Sunday even sweeter we spent some time with 2 of our granddaughters.....Claire & Ivy......Sweetness X 2......Giggles.....Kisses & Pops dancing with Claire.......Until next time keep dancing......XOXOXO

September Mornings

This blog originally started out in the morning......but here it is...now afternoon time......As you can see by one of the pics Dave bought us ( me ) a 2013 Honda Pilot.....we ( I ) have been pondering for quite sometime to get a mid size SUV.....we ( again I ) thought about a Hyundai Santa Fe.....a Volvo XC 90........a Ford Explorer.......& hubby was really liking the Honda Odyssey......but I sharply opposed.....So we agreed on a Honda Pilot & I love it.....its seats 8...yes 8......so now we have just enough room for our 6 granddaughters.....Yesterday we took our first kinda long trip in it.....up to the South Bay......to spend time with Charlotte Rose.....pic is above of her showing me her new bed ( crib ) converted into her bed.......It was so nice......that all of us could pile into the Pilot......we cruised around our old neighbor hood El Camino Village......drove by our first homestead 15205 Roselle ave.....a sweet little 1325 sq ft house.....3 bedrooms & 1 bath........The neighborhood is still nice & quite pricey.......Then it was off to lunch at Havana Mania in Redondo Beach....for some Cuban food.....yummy.....after that we went to visit my sister & brother in law in Manhattan Beach.......After that we headed back to Christopher's & Maru......but making a stop at Rita's Italian Ice.....A East Coast favorite for a East Coast Gal at heart.......So looking forward to the crisp day's of Autumn.....ahead......

Bountiful Sunday Blessings.....September 1st, 2013...........Blessings......What are blessings ? To some it may mean to have it all......What is having it all ? Its all relevant .....To me my life is full.....despite what some may consider obstacles.....to me they are trials....that we learn from......Jesus they say gives us trials.....that we can learn from & trust in HIM.....Do we have food on our table....a place to hang our hat......A place we can call home....Like the saying goes ' Home is wear your heart is ' where we can laugh, cry & be grateful for what God has blessed us with......HIS grace is sufficient .......By HIS grace we are saved.....not by works.....we are to be servants......HIS life should shine in us & sometimes I have to admit isn't always so.......Forgiveness I ask..... Life indeed has its trials & by FAITH we can learn......Life is & continues to be a learning process.......I am so eternally blessed.....my children......family.....friends fill my heart & Jesus fills my cup & at times I am not partaking in my Daily Bread.....But in retrospect I am sincerely thankful for not only my blessings.....but for my trials......
