Rainy Days & Friday Never Get Me Down...

         Rainy Days & Fridays.....Never get me down......What a amazing week this has been......I turned 58 years old .....& I feel great.....I have walked approximately at least 20 plus miles this week.....walking around the lake with the gals....has been awesome sweat & all.....& even some rain today.....so refreshing....Celebrated my Birthday with the Family ( almost all of them ) Our tradition continues at one of ours favorite Italian eatery's ......I simply love Italian food....but held out on the crusty warm bread.....it took willpower....but when I am focused ....I can do it & I did......But ask me about frozen yogurt....now that's another story....but I try to stick to.....non fat....low fat....dairy free & sometimes sugar free.....After dinner my son David James...treated us to froyo at White Lime.....yummy......Tonight I am hosting Bunco at my house....Hippie Theme..No bra burning.....Just Peace & Love.....So my Family & Friends.....Until next time Peace Out.....

Summer Splendor

           Summer Splendor At Its Finest......What does Summertime mean......frozen yogurt.....Saturday  evening parties with dear & close friends.....July 20th Corona California.....evening time.....warm breezes......margarita's......yummy appetizers......80's music....and all for my dear dear friend Robin Bray......we met back in the early 80's.....probably around 1981......where you might ask.....South Bay Preschool in Lomita California.....we were young Mothers....with 2 blonde hair,blue eye little girls.....starting Preschool for the 1st time.....of course at a parent cooperative preschool......we hit it off right away......we did play dates.....exercised together.....went to the Del Almo Mall together......and even bowled together......she talked me into it......never bowled before......She was a seasoned bowler......our friendship has carried on for 32 years & Robin continues to be one of my dearest friends ever.....even through tragedy of her baby son Matthew......we were pregnant together...Robin with her 3rd & myself with my 2nd......we both gave birth to little boys........Matthew & David......and like some stories ( real life ) Matthew passed from crib death.......this was so devastating for Robin & her Family.....but through it all even through distance our friendship continues to flourish......with love & gets closer with age.....So it was my pleasure to celebrate my dear friends Robin's 60th......gosh we were both in our 20's when we met.....Between the 2 of us we have birthed 11 children & we both embrace Motherhood with a passion.....So Robin.....Thank you for your friendship.....your kindness & your heart......& here to many more times together xoxo

36 Years & 1 Day......

                          36 years & 1 day.....But who's counting.......Geez "where did time go " The year was 1977 & the month & day July 16th.......A beautiful day in South Redondo......Saturday ......late afternoon.......Flowers & Barbara Streisand music.....A Star Is Born.......Love Soft As A Easy Chair......Yummy Food & a strawberry filled cake......fresh flowers adorning top of the cake......dancing......dancing........& dancing.......photo shoot after photo shoot......Before all this Maggie Ochoa & Dave Gonzalez were pronounced husband & wife......I do.....he does.......So young ( me only 22 yrs ) Dave.....a young 25 years.......young & naive & in love.......Fast forward......life has not been a always easy road......finances......hardships......a son facing a life threatening disease....But also.6 amazing children.......Melissa Elizabeth, David James,Christopher Michael,Jordan Robert,Jacob Christian & Elizabeth Alexandrea.....6 beautiful granddaughters.......Autumn,Morgan,Ava,Claire,Charlotte & Ivy......my heart sings pinks......our barn is full, but always room for more.....But through our life journey......Jesus Has Been Our Provider.....Our Savior......Our Hope......Here's to many more trying times & happy times.....with Jesus......always rooting for us......

Monday Morning Thoughts

Good Monday Morning......Ahhh a fresh start....a new day.....a new sunshine......new thoughts.....But Our Jesus.....The same yesterday...today & forever.....Can I hear a Amen.....Amen......As you can see from the pics.....part of my weekend involved one of the sweetest & most adorable little 15 month old......My Charlotte Rose.....We headed up to the South Bay.....Torrance to be exact.....Pop Pop & Jacob helped Christopher install a new alternator.....ok ok Chris & Jacob went to Auto Zone to purchase the part for Chris's Montero......While they were busy with the car.....Charlotte & Nana.....snuggled.....sang songs....ate goldfish crackers & read & read & read.......Oh how I love children's literature.....Having 6 kiddos & being a early childhood educator.....I just love reading to children & instilling the love of reading...is one I so hope to instill in my granddaughters & Charlotte Rose is all about Nana reading to her over & over again......looking at every picture in her books.....listening to every word.....ahhh nothing like the feel of a book...the touch of the cover & pages......I think I could actually read all day to her.....Before we start the book......we go over the author & the artist....then we start......reading with such intense excitement.....After our book reading & dinner.....yummy pizza ( cheat day ) we were off to Target......just myself with 2 of my son's & granddaughter.....Can you imagine what its like to see your 28 year old son with his little girl......it touches my heart......so tenderly & Uncle Jacob with his little niece....Charlotte Rose is so in love with her Tito Jacob.....and he with her.....Walking around Target with Nana pushing the Charlotte Rose in it .....all tightly secured......could melt any Nana's heart & yes my is melted......We bought 2 pairs of shoes......a sweet white eyelet dress & of course Christopher threw in a pair of Dickie shorts.....Is this the same little Christopher Michael.....that used to say " Eat My Shorts " ( yes a Bart Simpson fan ) Well in my heart he is still my little boy.....instead of saying " eat my shorts " Its now Mom " Can you buy me a pair of shorts " Yes Christopher Mommy can & will.....Until Next Time.....Be Blessed......Mornings With Maggie.....XOXOXO Ps Charlotte Rose we will get a big ball next time & maybe a new book to read XOXO

Green Eye Lady

Thursday Mornings Thoughts......Green Eye Lady.......Green eyes are very rare.....apparently only 2% of the human population have green eyes & I am one of the 2%......I was born from 2 brown eye parents.....but both sides of my Family.....have blue eyes & green eyes......I started as a blue eye child.....but the older I became my eyes turned to green.....making me part of the 2%......It all worked out fine...since green is my favorite color & also I married a man of greenish/blue eyes.....His eyes are what I first noticed about him....among others things.....Why I am blogging about my eyes is because I was recently diagnose with macular eye disease......this took me by surprised to say the least.....I just thought I had aging eyes......So after a extensive eye exam....I am being fitted with prescription glasses.....that I will be wearing all the time.....hmmmm Professor Maggie......cup 1/2 full the macular is only in one eye.....I will be seeing ( pardon the pun ) the specialist soon......@@......at first this devastated me.....but after some amazing emotional support not only from my friends......But from my best friend......My Jesus........So for now I will be enjoying my gift of sight.....Thank you to my friends & family for holding my hand.....during this trial......& JESUS you are always here for me......even though I sometimes I ignore you......But you never ignore me.....Love your child.....your green eye girl....

My Bucket Is Full.....More Patches To Add To My Quilt....

My bucket is full.....my heart is overflowing........wow what a splendid week & weekend.....starting Thursday.....with the 4th of July.....Family.....Fireworks......Frolic & Fun.....oops & food too.....Here it is Saturday & the celebration continues......swimming.....ice pops.....chips & salsa & yes refreshing ice tea.....I am one content Nana when her house is full.....granddaughters......children......friends of granddaughters.....Friday night dinners in Old Town Temecula.....Cuban food.....it doesn't get much tastier....lechon asado ( roasted pork/onions.....black beans & rice.....with a fresh plantain on the side.....yummy......then afterwards a 2 mile walk around the lake.....Saturday morning homemade Belgium waffles......yum......then back to swimming......Tomorrow is another day.....back to reality....housecleaning.....rest & reflecting about my quilt of life....always patches to add......My Heart,My Home,My Family......and 1st & foremost my Father.....
